The waterline has risen above my head. I do not want learning, dignity, or respectability. I just want to see more clearly under water.

Rock and Roll
This might be the last of my thick waterlogged paintings. The rainy season in Florida has officially ended with the cooler fall weather today. Now my water soaked images don't seem quite right. End pieces to a series sometimes seem more bizarre like this one. I'll see what happens tomorrow. I like the "one day at a time" approach.

Definite sense of motion in this, a motorcycle exiting the cloud of its own exhaust, but he seems to be having a little trouble but all he has to do is adjust the carburetor, running too rich, almost there. I love the way you captured that, maybe not consciously but relates the the way I might see things on this day. You know I'm going to ask you to give me every other one of these!! Gary would love this one, can you tell?
ReplyDeleteWhen I say exhaust, I don't mean a negative thing at all, people exhaust parts of themselves all the time and very colorfully. Exhaust means it will be recycled, room made for the new and rearranged. These bursts and blocks of color are thoughts, feelings and ideas lingering around the motorcycle until they are ready to clear and make room for new.

Great comments Mary. What happened is I sped up and stopped taking my time. The revised version is posted now. Less color, and more drawing.
