The waterline has risen above my head. I do not want learning, dignity, or respectability. I just want to see more clearly under water.

Rock Tree Water
The two last pieces come together to form a whole. A place in the rock face where a new story can be told of the interplay of earth, water, and organic forms.

Abyss
A long hard fall through space. Right down through the middle and into the white space. A little like The Bridge at San Luis Rey. The rope bridge breaks and down we go.

Trees and Water
The Indian River has Mangrove branches growing from the water in many places but surprisingly no alligators.

River Storm
The pieces are becoming dimensional. As I work pieces pop up, edges are askew, and real relief space is possible.

Landscape With Water
I have realized I like detail, and put a lot in a small space. I need to have a garage sale of all those details and simplify the images. Simple and direct is my intention.

After The Storm
I'm pushing the process more in this rather disjointed series and soaking the paper longer. Did I mention that I put the collage pieces together and glue them when they are wet?

Landscape With Illuminated Tree
It seems I am in transition. Walking dream-like into a bizarre and surreal place. The work can become more real than reality, or maybe it is reality. Hard to tell sometimes.

Recycle
Even old flower paintings can be recycled. I went through my drawings and tore up probably 30. What you have been seeing now are the recombinations. Do you recognize the Christmas Poinsettias?

Plant Pieces
These last few mixed media pieces are my wanting to completely let go and just have the painting paint itself. Sometimes it works well. I like these chopped up bits emerging from a blanket of fog.

Beach
I haven't been writing much lately. No story comes to mind. These images seem more about poetry than about prose. The air and water, sand and waves.

Terrarium
I have sort of a mini-series of terrarium pieces now. They keep popping up. A secret garden where anything can happen.

Carnivorous Plant
My dream of a deadly plant, one with a leering face. An angry and vengeful garden plot. Where this image came from I don't quite know.

Heart Fire
I actually don't know what to say about this or where it came from. If I think of something I will add it later.

The World is a Spinning Disc
The final large drawing (4' x 6') of this idea. As you may remember I destroyed the first one. I based this on a vivid dream I had and more images may come from it. I am going to do a large drawing every two days starting soon. I have one more big project to finish first.

Transformation
Fish Transformation. It's not easy changing from a regular fish into a spirit fish. The journey is long and arduous, and usually involves dismemberment (as you can see) of some kind along the way. The parts have to be separated out than rearranged into a new integration and thats always painful.

Big Red Eye Fish
Big Red Eye Fish. It seems I am still in the water. I will continue with the water pieces as long as they last but these new ones are not included in the Cosmic Ocean Series.
Big Red Eye Fish sees everything but it only makes him sadder.

Sideways Tree
I know you can't see it but Sideways Tree is leaning over the water. It has grown muscular in its sideways position and its bark is as red as flame.

Fish That Love The Light - Cosmic Ocean Series
This is the end piece for the series. The two fish together in the light forever. All things are one in the light.
Luzanne I know you are in the light floating free. I will really miss you.
