The waterline has risen above my head. I do not want learning, dignity, or respectability. I just want to see more clearly under water.

Dreams of Dr Seuss
Once in a while cartoon forms appear in my work. I think we all have different artistic parts and doing a project like this allows all those parts to be exposed and interrelate. Sometimes the combinations are startling. This has a sad and maybe ominous quality despite its bright color.

Dr. Seuss imagery is magical and playful. However, my first thoughts on this image were hands surrounded by and pulled with color. I will have to keep looking at this piece--it keeps changing every time I see it. It reminds me of something being cradles or crafted.
ReplyDeleteActually the forms reminded me of Dr. Suess but the overall feel is not playful but a little claustrophobic and a little sinister.
ReplyDeleteI definitely see figures in it this morning.
