Dive

Grace.  At the bottom of the pool instead of a hole there is grace.

The Porch

Of all the things in Florida that I love, it is the porch that I will miss the most.

Wind Blown

The wind whipping off the river shreds the palms and bananas. Florida feels like this, its lush color and exotic plants seem almost dreamlike. I could dream here for a while.

Cut Off

It wanted to grow past time and space. It reached the clouds but that's all.

Eye Of The Storm

Pouring rain last night. Strong southern wind laced with bolts of lightening. It's spring and nature is rearranging the rhythm of the yard forcing her awake.

Water And Rocks

Florida and Utah. Transitions are hard. It's the wave action of back and forth. I feel differently though, after a year here and it's nice to have the water and rocks together in one image.  I think New York might be in there too.

Scattered Thoughts

The highway of focus is there but all the pieces want my attention too.

Cave Entrance

Portal into the unknown. The blackness inside is almost unbearable when we are really in it.

Ghost In The Machine

Simplify the problelms of humanity down to one element.  Is evil the "ghost in the machine?"

Yard Secrets

Yards are like children. A lot happens in your yard that you aren't meant to know about.

Flower Map IV

We all know that a map is not the real Thing. The Thing is the only thing.

Flower Map III

This flower has a whirling center. It seems a little like a star planted here.

Flower Map II

We can decide to map a flower, the highways, all the rubies in the world, and the galaxies. What is more satisfying than to say, "I know what this is, I've made a map."

Sick Dog

Mo has pneumonia and I am worried. It got worse all of a sudden last night and she is having trouble breathing. Right now the spiral is broken.

Roots

I've heard that there are highways of roots that connect the world together.

Loss

Dark Waters. Choppy waves. Transparent movement and no fish at all.

Burned Tree In 3-D

Ken, you might like this. All those twists and turns in a lifetime in the trunk and in the branches. Getting burned out a few times is normal. We think we are the tree and look at us.  But really we are only a drawing of the tree on an infinite piece of white achival 100% rag paper.

This is dedicated to you.

Trees In Winter

Thinking of Western New York. White snow and trees blacker than coal.

Desert Landscape

There is a feeling in the desert like a high note, or a humming just barely perceived. A richness in the dirt and light with it's space and almost green plants that I have learned to love and hate.

Cliffhanger

Deep Space, I want more of it. There is something thrilling there, when an image pulls you back into it's farthest corner.

River Storm

I haven't posted a large drawing in a while so this is a little different. There was a storm that swept through just yesterday. They don't sit on the river, they roll across like a sideways tornado.
